About Me

My photo
Selkie
I am an avid beachcomber who collects sea glass, shells, driftwood. With a deep respect for nature, I try to harvest ethically and sustainably. I never collect anything alive or with life clinging to it. I live near the ocean, and love to spend my time on beaches. Here is where my creative soul fills with love and hope for our fragile planet. It is here I find my materials, and inspiration for jewellery, sun catchers, and mobiles. A lifelong love of the ocean and nature, and the daughter of a fisherman, I became familiar with boats and water at a very early age. My father taught me to respect the ocean, a valuable lesson! I grew up in Victoria B.C., on Vancouver Island. I have travelled to Cuba, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Oregon, California, Ireland, and drove across Canada to Newfoundland. In our little sloop, my husband and I sail the Gulf Islands. While travelling, I am always on the lookout for unique materials, and/or inspiration for my projects. Life is truly beautiful.
